MISSUS BEASTLY — Missus Beastly (1970-2002) RM | FLAC (tracks+.cue), lossless

Missus Beastly from Herford were among the most famous German psychedelic bands, with the most confusing history of all of them. Their first LP released on CPM in 1970 - without any title, just like the second LP in 1974 - had a beautiful red cover artwork and is traded today at around US$700. A certain Henry C. From, pretending to be the band’s manager, flutist and drummer, arranged for a re-issue, which was released under the title of "Nara asst incense" (OPP 5-32) with the same tracks in a different order and with a totally new cover artwork. When no legal action was taken against him, this man had the cheek to embark on further fraudulent ventures by recording another two LPs and releasing them under the stolen name of Missus Beastly. On top of that, a bootleg CD of "Nara asst incense" was released by Germanofon. GOD

MISSUS BEASTLY — Bremen 1974 (1974-2006) FLAC (tracks+.cue), lossless

The first two LPs of Missus Beastly did not have a title, a circumstance causing considerable confusion. The first one appeared on CPM in 1970, the second on Nova in 1974. Meanwhile, both have been released as CDs on Garden of Delights. On September 2nd, 1974, shortly after putting out their second LP, Missus Beastly had a gig in the Bremen Post-Aula. The concert was broadcast by Radio Bremen in their program “Jazz live”. Luckily, the master tape was kept by the station over the decades and was made available for the CD release. The three long tracks are not to be heard on any Missus Beastly LP. Keyboarder Dieter Miekautsch had meanwhile left the group; instead, the great guitarist Eddy Marron – well-known for playing with Vita Nova and Dzyan and his long-standing co-operation with Peter Giger – had joined them. Free instrumental jazz(-rock). GOD

MISSUS BEASTLY — Dr. Aftershave And The Mixed-Pickles (1976-2011) FLAC (tracks+.cue), lossless

"Dr Aftershave and the mixed-pickles” (April 00001) was Missus Beastly’s third album, which once more presented some solid jazz rock, mostly instrumental. It was at the same time the first album to be released on April, the new self-distributing label run by Missus Beastly, Ton Steine Scherben, Embryo, and Sparifankal. The LP was recorded in the well-known Stuttgart Zuckerfabrik studio (a former sugar refinery) at the beginning of 1976. The two CD bonus tracks were recorded at the Vlotho festivals (“Umsonst und draußen” [outside and for free]) 1976 and 1977. At that time, they were presented on the annual festival LPs. “Dr. Aftershave” was actually planned to be released on CD years ago, but some unexpected obstacles caused a long delay. The fourth and last Missus Beastly LP, “Space guerilla” from 1978, will soon be released on CD, again provided with bonus tracks. GOD

MISSUS BEASTLY — Space Guerilla (1978-2015) FLAC (tracks+.cue), lossless

Instrumental jazz-rock, recorded perfectly in the Stuttgart sound studio Zuckerfabrik in April 1978. Its style resembles that of its predecessor, “Dr. Aftershave and the mixed-pickles”. “Space guerilla” (Schneeball 00011) was then the fourth and last LP by Missus Beastly. All of the eight tracks were written by the band members themselves. The two bonus tracks were taken from sampler LPs: the first one, from the sampler “Umsonst & draußen – Porta Westvlothica 78”, was drawn from the master tape; the second one was taken from “Rock gegen rechts” (1979). The album at hand is actually the first CD release of “Space guerilla”. The 32-page booklet contains a detailed band history, an accurate discography including cover and label reproductions, photographs, etc. Thus, the series of CD releases of Missus Beastly material has practically been completed. MISSUS BEASTLY — Minden 1976 (2023) FLAC (tracks), lossless

After their psychedelic and bluesy beginnings, Missus Beastly had been playing instrumental jazz-rock since 1974. This was also the case here at their performance at the Haus der Jugend in Minden on Friday, January 23rd, 1976. In the same month, just a few days before, they had also recorded their then third LP "Dr. Aftershave and the mixed-pickles", then still with Jürgen Benz. So the pieces on the Minden CD contain some elements of the LP tracks, but nothing more. It wasn't that the pieces were played live - they were free variations. Hence the neutral titles "Minden Mind - Part 01" to "Minden Mind - Part 07". The professional recording is flawless in sound. GOD

MISSUS BEASTLY — Missus Beastly (1974-2005) FLAC (tracks+.cue), lossless

The history of Missus Beastly from Herford is very confusing. Their first LP (CPM LP S 002) - from 1970, self-titled, with a red cover - still could be filed under "Underground". "Nara asst incense" (OPP 5-32) is an illegal re-release of this LP. Their second record (Nova 6.22030) - again self-titled, in a gorilla cover - came out in 1974. It is instrumental jazz-rock, played by a significantly changed line-up. The corresponding Germanofon bootleg CD presents three bonus tracks which are not, however, songs of our Missus Beastly. To crown it all, there was a group that had the audacity to pose as Missus Beastly and even released records under their name. The first legal CD edition of the real Missus Beastly's second LP has now been released, taken from the master tape. Its booklet presents a detailed band story, discography, a lot of photographs, etc. GOD
