GURNEMANZ — No Rays Of Noise (1977-2006) Two Version | APE + FLAC (image+.tracks+.cue), lossless

While Gurnemanz’s first album from 1975, "Spielmannskinder" ("Minstrels’ children"), was based on traditional folk, the second album from 1977, "No rays of noise", contained various progressive elements. That’s why it is re-released in this series on CD. Most tracks are sung by Manuela Schmitz, some by Wolfgang Riedel or Wolfgang Scheel or by all of them together. Two song lyrics are in German, the others in English. The long running time of a CD made it possible to add their third album "Blue moon" which was planned for release in 1979 but never saw the light of day. As it was not yet recorded in the studio, live versions of the song material had to be used. The booklet of 32 pages is sumptuously decorated, leaving no wishes open. It includes a large band history, tour dates, all song lyrics and many photographs. GOD

GURNEMANZ — Fair Margaret And Sweet William (1972-2008) Three Version | WV + FLAC (image+.tracks+.cue), lossless

Gurnemanz from the Rhineland area were founded on 5/5/1972. Their music was a kind of medieval folk with lute, flute, sitar, and similar instruments. In 1975 they released their LP “Spielmannskinder” and in 1977 “No rays of noise”. Before the band already had released three reel-to-reel tapes: “Fair Margaret and sweet William” (1972), “Liaze” (1973), and “Sisu” (1974) each of them lasting 45 min. Good for us, John Cremer who was responsible for the recordings had kept the master tapes. In his Railroad-Tracks-Studio he got all the sound possible out of them. On the now available CD you can find as a bonus three pieces from one of the very first Gurnemanz’ gigs (also recorded by John Cremer). The booklet shows all the lyrics including comments, and in part translated into German. GOD
