WANIYETULA — A Dream Within A Dream (1983-2004) Two Version | APE (image+.tracks+.cue), lossless

Waniyetula were already founded in 1969 in Frankfort on Main. In the beginning of 1976 they wanted to record an LP with texts by Edgar Allan Poe, but The Alan Parsons Project beat them only just to it with their masterpiece “Tales of mystery and imagination”. Disillusioned they quit the plan momentarily but kept it in mind and in 1982 they recorded the tracks again. One year later they were released as LP “A dream within a dream” (Klangkunst KK 2811-018). Naturally their record isn’t able to match the one from The Alan Parsons Project but after all they had no Arthur Brown as guest singer and no Orson Welles as speaker. As bonus can be heard, among one other track by Waniyetula, two today  hardly accessible ones from the festival LP “Concert ’71”. Taken from the master tapes. GOD

WANIYETULA — Iron City (1971-78-2006) Two Version | APE + FLAC (image+.tracks+.cue), lossless

Waniyetula, founded in Frankfort on Main, released their only LP, “A dream within a dream”, only in 1983; it came out as a CD in 2004. There were a number of good recordings from the 70s, however, which should not rot away in some forgotten place; so they were collected and put on a separate CD. First the great track “Lindis Farne”, played on the 8th German Beat Festival in the Recklinghausen Vestlandhalle in 1971 – which, however, didn’t actually have a lot to do with beat music. Then four tracks from the summer of 1974, the recordings of which were conducted by Volker Stein. And finally two songs with lyrics based on texts by Edgar Allan Poe, recorded in the Frankfort studio Löwengasse under the direction of Richard Kersten and Volker Stein. Later, these two pieces were once more recorded for their LP, though with a completely different line-up. GOD
