Who talks about Gravestone means often the metal band from Illertissen
from the eighties. True, later they really played some hard stuff, but
their first two LPs, with the titles “Doomsday” (1979) and “War” (1980)
were pure progressive rock (only some slight hard-rock influences could
be heard). At the end of the nineties “Doomsday” was released as a
bootleg CD, which was taken from the record. It was made up quite cheap
and was released with neither the artists’ knowledge nor their consent.
The now available legal CD on Garden of Delights was taken from the
master tape. Its bonus was taken from the same studio session. In the
booklet you can find a detailed story about the band in German and
English version, a detailed discography even with their latest records, a
lot of pictures, as well as cover and label repros.
