Originally released for the first time on a 1977 double LP and later reissued on two separate CDs, these performances are up to pianist Red Garland's usual level. Since he was teamed with bassist Paul Chambers, drummer Art Taylor and Ray Barretto on conga, the same lineup used on the Manteca date of two months earlier, the date went unreleased for decades, but in reality, the music is excellent.
