Level p is a new one-man project from the Rhineland, stylistically
related to the early Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream, or Klaus Schulze. The
person behind this is a certain Uwe Cremer, born in Düsseldorf in 1965,
who is playing all the instruments himself, especially the guitar and
the synthesizer. Spherical sounds above which a lonely electrical guitar
is majestically floating. Quiet, but not boring. One of the tracks
(“Bad weather”) contains English speech-song; the others are doing
without any vocals. A completely well-played and -recorded CD, without
any flops. Its first part sounds rather psychedelic, later it becomes
more electronic. One who doesn’t know what he wants? Rather someone who
is displaying his versatility. Uwe Cremer regards his CD as homage to
the days when Krautrock was still young and Pink Floyd still wrote
music.
