Long a fixture in the Los Angeles area, Alan Broadbent is greatly in demand as an arranger and conductor but he has also continued to grow as a pianist. Teamed with bassist Putter Smith and drummer Frank Gibson, Broadbent digs into such standards as "Easy Living," "Easy To Love," ‘Beautiful Love" and Barry Harris' "Reets & I" in addition to his own "This One's For Bud." Bud Powell is one of the influences on Broadbent's style but he had long ago found his own voice in the swinging modern mainstream. This is one of his better all-round efforts.
